We have all undoubtedly dealt with fear and anxiety at some point in our lives, oftentimes as a result of all of the "what if's" and fretting over things that may never come to pass, and fixing our minds on the storm instead of on the calmer of the sea (Mark 4:35-41) . Some concerns are legitimate, but while there will always be things that are beyond our control, we can control how we react to them, and where we choose to put our focus.
If you've been bombarded with information about COVID-19, and lets face it, it's everywhere - from the news to social media, to hysteria at the supermarkets - then this blog post if for you! Instead of focusing on that which is causing fear and anxiety in the hearts and minds of people everywhere right now, lets turn off the media coverage and give our attention to some Bible verses that deal with fear and peace. Read them slowly, meditate on them and commit them to memory, getting them deep into your heart and mind! Pray and ask the Lord to help you to trust Him and to not be afraid, not just of a virus, but in any area of your life that causes fear or anxiety. Any time you're tempted to fear, go back to these verses and remember that the Lord is in control and is faithful to all of His promises. I know He is faithful and His word is true from personal experience, yet I'm preaching to myself here too!
